Yep, it’s Gears
At launch,Gears of Warnever really caught on in my circles. It was always second (or third) fiddle toHaloandCall of Duty, but I still played the campaign with my wife nonetheless, and dabbled in online play. Now here we are nearly 10 years later withGears of War Ultimate Edition, and so far, so good.
An online beta kicked off yesterday, which you can get a look at above. The 1080p visuals with 60 frames-per-second claim is accurate based on my testing, and online play has been very smooth so far outside of the typical lengthyGears-like matchmaking process. The beta will run until Monday, June 22, and will feature team deathmatch and King of the Hill.Ultimate Editionwill arrive on August 25.
