Still due on April 25

In case you missed it (and it was easy to miss!),Nintendo shadow-dropped a trailer and release datefor theXenoblade Chronicles 3story DLC. Truth be told I expected this thing to arrive in Q3 or Q4 of this year, but, uh, it’s out on April 25!

Following the core reveal, the Nintendo of America YouTube channelalso gave us a new song from the DLC, and it’s a banger. The track is called “New Battle!!!” (verify you get those three exclamation marks in there), and I can’t wait to listen to it over and over in-game. Suddenly, the massive string of emotional JRPGs I played from the ’90s through the early aughts came rushing back to me. I love how muchXenoblade Chroniclesjustdoes thaton a regular basis, dating back to the release of the original on the Wii.

With each and every release theXenobladename continues to beout there, and I hope that when the next inevitable entry drops, it’s an even bigger success. Also, timing! This DLC got in right beforeZelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which is going to be dominating the collecting gaming conversation come mid-May. Until then we haveXenoblade Chronicles 3andStar Wars Jedi: Survivorto talk about.
