Part of me really wants to attempt to make headline a reality by engaging in a battle of wits with this week’s guest. Jonathan Blow (Braid, The Witness) understands videogames on a level that I will probably never achieve. The thought of coaxing that magnificent brain into new levels of analytic brilliance by challenging him with my own differing perspectives is extremely exciting to me.

In the end though, I’ll probably give in to my urge to befriend him, and just ask him questions about his new game, how his design philosophy has changed since the success ofBraid, why the term “art game” is bollocks, where he thinks the future of “mature” games is headed, the importance of not wasting a player’s time, and anything else he wants to talk about. But who knows? Maybe we’ll get fake tans and breast implants and then get really mad at each other. That would probably be great for ratings.
