So far Sony’s State of Play streams haven’t set the world on fire, but I dig that other major publishers are branching out and trying new formats. Splitting up announcements like this has been a boon, as I often find myself getting overwhelmed by studios holding all of their news for E3 and other big tradeshows: unleashing it all at once. I can’t imagine how someone who doesn’t do this for a living keeps track of everything!

Speaking of, the next State of Play is scheduled for Tuesday, September 24 at 4PM ET, which you’re able to watch onTwitch,YouTube,Twitter,Facebook, or read about on Destructoid when it airs. Sony says that it’s aiming for a 20-minute runtime, but most importantly will debut a “fresh new look for the format.”Sony, just get Mark Cerny to be the face of this showand you’ll instantly skyrocket into stardom.

Don’t get too excited though. Sony outright lets us know that no PS5 plans are on the table, stating: “don’t expect any updates related to our next-gen plans in this episode. Expected!
