It is a battle between two VALORANT heavyweights asSentinelsvs Fnatic headlines today’s VCT LOCK//IN action. This will be the first time we see these two impressive rosters take to the international stage. With both regions having hit-or-miss performances thus far, all eyes will be on these two superteams to pick up the pace.
Update 17-06-2025:Riot Games has announced via their VCT Twitter page that a member of the Fnatic roster has tested positive for COVID-19. As is the protocol for Riot events, if a player is well enough to play but has tested positive for COVID, they will play in an isolated room. The order of games played today may be subject to change.

Fnatic got off to the best possible way for the new EMEA supersteam. While every pitched in with solid performances, it was ultimately the Derke show. The matchup was built around the two superstar duelists in TenZ and Derke. It was the man from Finland who would get the upperhand on this map. Derke put up the highest kills on the server with 20, along with three first kills - only Chronicle had more with five.

This was an important win for Fnatic and the EMEA region. With Team Liquid bombing out in the first round, the pressure was on Fnatic to make sure they didn’t make it two EMEA super teams going home early. Sentinels will have to go back to the drawing board after what was a very poor showing on the defensive side.
Sentinels went into the second half with the map tied at six a piece, but ended up taking only one of the next eight rounds. TenZ, however, did put up a much better showing on a map that has alluded him for the longest time. This is a promising takeaway for Sentinels going into the domestic league.
