Not just mobile and browser games!

Segabowed out of E3 completelythis year as the company continued to wind down relevancy as a developer and publisher of moderate to big budget video games. But wait! Earlier this morning,we reported onSega boss Hajime Satomi noting that Sega has, “partially betrayed” fans over the last 10 years and that it wants, “to win back the customers’ trust, and become a brand once again.”

How will it do that? Well, even though it’s makingloads of moneywith its mobile games, Sega did at least pull some of its retro ports from mobile platforms, citingquality concerns. Small step, though maybe an easy one, as those weren’t its money-makers.

But Sega seems committed to trying to become renowned again. It’s a steep slope. The company at least hadAlien: Isolationlast year, but when asked if it would have any substantial releases in the rest of this year, Satomi explained, “Since we’re seriously considering quality, I can’t make that promise for the time being, but I believe we will announce something for home console at Tokyo Game Show.”

And the best part is that it at least won’t be anotherSonic Boom, which wasalready announced.
