According to Distant Worlds composer
Today at aFinal FantasyDistant Worlds concert in Pittsburgh, composer Arnie Roth stated that “there is aFinal Fantasy XIIremake underway,” adding that it would be coming out “soon.”
Maybe he meant HD remaster. That sounds more likely than a full remake à laFinal Fantasy VII.
Square Enix hasn’t made any official announcement regarding this, mind you. But the publisher just put out enhanced versions ofFinal Fantasy XandX-2for PlayStation systems, so another remaster seems plausible. Actually, it would be more surprising if it didn’t happen sooner or later.
Also, for what it’s worth, Roth made a special note to point out thatFinal Fantasy XIIandFinal Fantasy Tacticscomposer Hitoshi Sakimoto was in attendance at the event.
