What are wound infections in Project Zomboid?

While some of them are easy to heal, a bitten infection will usually prove to be fatal. Let’s learn a bit more about how you might end up with these types of infections.
Infected wounds are of two types: normal and Knox. It’s the latter you have to be careful about, as a Knox infection means that you’re now being slowly transformed into a zombie. Unfortunately, the health tab only indicates you are getting an infection and nothing more. This makes it highly problematic, especially if you’re a beginner.

It’s important to understand that once you start turning into a zombie, there’s no coming back. However, you will be able to treat scratches and lacerations if they don’t infect you with a Knox infection.
