It’s officially spooky season in Pokémon GO.
The Pokémon GO Halloween 2024 Part 1 event will debut both Morpeko and Dynamax Ghastly into the game. The event runs from Tuesday, October 22 at 10am local time until Monday, October 28 at 10am local time.
The event is the first of two Halloween themed events this year, with the second coming immediately afterwards. Stay tuned for more details about that.

Pokémon GO Halloween 2024 event debuts Morpeko
Morpeko will make its Pokémon GO debut. Morpeko brings with it a whole new mechanic in Pokémon GO, the abolity to change form in battle. This unleashes all new possibilities for battling in Pokémon GO.
Initially, Morpeko will only be able to change forms when battling Team GO Rocket or in the GO Battle League.

Morpeko will be a featured reward for the GO Battle League
Starting with the Pokémon GO Halloween 2024 Part 1 event you can find Morpeko in reward encounters in GO Battle League. Then, during the event, Morpeko will be encountered more frequently in the premium track of the GO Battle League.
After the event, starting at Rank 16 in the GO Battle League, Morpeko will be encountered in both GO Battle League reward tracks, but more frequently in the premium track.
Pokémon GO Halloween 2024 Part 1 Max Battles debuts Dynamax Ghastly
Dynamax Gastly will make its Pokémon GO Dynamax debut in one-star Max Battles!

Pokémon caught from Max Battle encounters, as well as their Evolutions, can be Dynamaxed during Max Battles.

Both of these Timed Research Tasks will expire on Sunday, August 15, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
Other event details
There are also a few other things to enjoy during this event, Pokémon encounter backgrounds, PokéStops, and Gyms will be decorated for the holiday during both parts of the Halloween event. There will also be a remix of the Lavender Town music playing nightly during this year’s Halloween event.
Finally, be on the lookout for Showcases at different PokéStops where you may enter event-themed Pokémon!
