Starting on June 28, 2025, Honkai: Star Rail players can enjoy new missions and hope for drops in Version 2.2 Phase 2. Let’s highlight important details of this period, including the newest playable character, the 5-star character in rerun, the Light Cone event warps, and a time-limited event.
The Trailblaze mission
The primary story adventure of Honkai: Star Rail continues on the planet Penacony. In Version 2.2, we have a mission called “The Fool Always Rings Twice.” It’s part of Chapter 2: Penacony and Part 3: In Our Time.
In Phase 2, the mission doesn’t change. You can continue with your tasks connected to the Charmony Festival. One thing to notice is that if you want to start the Trailblaze mission of Honkai: Star Rail 2.3 right after its release, you need to plan your activities within The Fool Always Rings Twice — V.2.2 Phase 2 continues until July 16, 2025.

Boothill, a new playable character
The biggest thing in Honkai: Star Rail 2.2 Phase 2 is the start of the newest character banner. The Boothill banner is available from May 29 to June 18.
Who is Boothill?
We could see Boothill for the first time in Version 2.0. He is a cheerful cyborg cowboy who travels across the universe and joins many adventures. Boothill’s main goal is to avenge the Interastral Peace Corporation.
As a non-playable character (NPC), Boothill was present also in Version 2.1. The playable version is available in Honkai: Star Rail 2.2 Phase 2. Boothill is a 5-star Physical character. His path is The Hunt.

How to unlock Boothill in Honkai: Star Rail
Like all other characters in the game, Boothill can be obtained through the warp system.
Boothill is a 5-star character, so he drops rarely. The drop rate for him is increased in Version 2.2 Phase 2, though. You have a 75% chance of getting Boothill, but only out of all other 5-star characters, which is only 0.6% out of all drops. To obtain a guaranteed 5-star character, you need to do 90 warps.
Fu-Xuan character rerun
Fu-Xuan is featured in Versions 2.2 Phase 2 as a rerun character. Her banner is available alongside Boothill’s, so consider who exactly you hunt for.

Who is Fu-Xuan?
Fu-Xuan is a 5-star Quantum character. Her path is Preservation. Her unique ability in the game story is predicting the future, as Fu-Xuan is a Master Diviner. She was introduced as a playable character in October 2023, and Version 2.2 Phase 2 is the second opportunity to obtain her.
How to unlock Fu-Xuan in Honkai: Star Rail
In the warp section, choose Fu-Xuan’s banner to have a chance for her to drop for your collection. Use your Star Rail Special Passes to perform warps and get character and Light Cone drops. These items are available in the store. One Star Rail Special Pass costs 160 Stellar Jades. Another way to get Special Passes is to complete missions of the Nameless Honor. You need to purchase Nameless Glory, which is the premium tier of the game’s Battle Pass.
There will be only four Star Rail Special Passes after 70 tiers, but Nameless Honor will reward you with many other items. Notice that the current run is available until the end of Version 2.2, so unlock as many as possible before Honkai: Star Rail 2.3 starts on June 18.

Four-star characters in Phase 2 of Honkai Star Rail 2.2
In addition to 5-star characters, the game features a few pretty good 4-star characters in event warps. The list of these possible drops is identical for both Boothill and Fu-Xuan banners.
The chances for 4-character drops are significantly higher. To get one for sure, use 10 Star Rail Special Passes in one go.
Light Cones in Version 2.2 Phase 2
In Phase 2 of Honkai: Star Rail 2.2, we have the following Light Cone event warps.
Choose the Light Cone event warp according to your preferences for the character banners. Both Phase 2 Light Cone event warps have three possible 4-star drops.
