Overwatch 2 Competitive Drives explained
A Competitive Drive is a limited-time event that happens in a specific ranked mode. The first Competitive Drive starts near the end of the current season and takes place over the weekend. During this period, you can earn rewards by completing matches in the Overwatch 2 Competitive Play Role Queue.
How to unlock Overwatch 2 signatures
According to Overwatch 2 systems designer Gavin Winter, you can earn a Drive Score and progress toward a checkpoint when you win a match. Each checkpoint features a reward, with Competitive Points and signatures being a couple of examples. These items give your BattleTag a frame. It should also be noted that signatures are removed after a rank reset.

On Sept. 17, Blizzard revealed all of the Competitive Drive checkpoint awards for Season 12. They include lots of Competitive Points plus the aforementioned signatures.
“Your progression on a Drive is shared across all roles in Role Queue,” Blizzard added. “You do not earn progression toward your Drive in Open Queue Competitive Play.”
