The latest Overwatch 2 patch notes are now live. Starting Dec. 17, players can enter Unranked mode and duke it out in six-versus-six (6v6) Role Queue. Read on for details plus all of these Overwatch 2 patch notes.

Overwatch 2 6v6 Role Queue explained

Between Dec. 17 and Jan. 6, Overwatch 2 players can enter the game’s 6v6 experiment. To do this, select “Play” from the main menu, choose “Unranked,” and select the “6v6 Role Queue” option.

This version of Overwatch 2 6v6 Role Queue involves the 2-2-2 format, which means each team must have two tanks, two damage heroes, and two support characters.

According to Blizzard, multiple heroes received balance updates for 6v6. However, note that these changes only apply to this particular game mode.

“To accommodate the 6v6 format, multiple heroes received balance changes that better suit their abilities in the 6v6 format,“Blizzard explained. “These changes are only applied for this mode and are adjusted from the most recent hero balance from the [Dec.] 10 patch.”
