2019 is here and with it comes new information about one of the year’s most anticipated releases,Metro Exodus. Today Xbox shared a brand newMetro Exodusstory trailer going into detail about the latestMetrogame’s continuation of the series' epic story. Additionally, the company revealed an Xbox One X bundle featuring the entireMetrosaga.
The bundle willrelease alongsideMetro Exodusand include all three titles from 4A Games' popularMetroseries of games:Metro 2033,Metro: Last Light, and the aforementionedMetro Exodus. The bundle also includes an Xbox One X 1TB console, a controller, and 1-month trials for Xbox Live Gold and Game Pass. The bundle will retail for the standard Xbox One X retail price of $499, and it’s worth mentioning that the three games will be available via download, not on-disc.
Of course, the bundle’s overall value depends entirely on whether one is excited for the release ofMetro Exodusbut thenew story trailershould help with that evaluation.Metro Exoduswill pick up the story whereMetro: Last Lightleft off in 2013, putting players in the role of Artyom as he struggles to survive in a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by nuclear war.
However, unlike previousMetrotitles, rather than haunt Moscow’s Metro for the whole game, Artyom will instead be making an effort to escape Russia.Metro Exodussees the protagonist and his friends going on a cross-continent journey in pursuit of a new home. Whether there exists a land unravaged by nuclear fallout isn’t known for sure, but just the opportunity is enough for Artyom to leave Moscow and its warring factions behind.
One thing’s for sure -Metro Exodusappears to live up to the incredible visual standards of its predecessors. 4A Games has again set its visual expectations high and the results are clear, both in terms of the game’scinematic storytellingand gameplay. Now to wait for the game’s launch, to see what the fullMetro Exodusgame can deliver.
Metro Exodusreleases February 15 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
