Meghan Markle’sSuitscostarPatrick J. Adamsis cleaning up his social media feed amid the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.

On Wednesday, the 42-year-old actor apologized for uploading throwback photos from theSuitsset, includingpreviously unseenimages of the Duchess of Sussex, on his Instagram page this week. Adams deleted the four posts, which included shots of Meghan kicking back on set and smiling under an umbrella, and said followers reminded him this wasn’t allowed as the union pushes for a better contract.

“The last couple of days I foolishly and thoughtlessly let a trip downSuitsmemory lane distract me from the very real and ongoing fight everyone in @sagaftra continues to wage in its effort to win our membership realistic 21st century compensation and protections,” Adams began a statement shared to his Instagram Story on Tuesday.

“It was an embarrassing oversight for which I’m incredibly sorry,” he continued. “So grateful to those who gently and swiftly course-corrected me here and I look forward to continuing the fight in the days and weeks ahead. #sagaftrastrong”

According to aFAQ pagefor SAG-AFTRA about the strike, members “cannot promote struck work or struck companies on social media” whileinfluencers"should refrain from posting on social media about any struck work regardless of whether they are posting organically or in a paid capacity."

Formed in the 1930s, SAG-AFTRA “brings together two great American labor unions: Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists,” according to the officialSAG-AFTRA website. The website adds that the SAG-AFTRA represents “approximately 160,000 actors, announcers, broadcast journalists, dancers, DJs, news writers, news editors, program hosts, puppeteers, recording artists, singers, stunt performers, voiceover artists and other media professionals.”

Actors are seeking better compensation and benefit plans, as the rise of streaming services (whereSuitsishaving a resurgence) and complications resulting from the streaming model have contributed to a decline in wages and residuals. They also are looking for protections against the impact of AI on their work.

Before she marriedPrince Harry, Meghan acted alongside Adams inSuits, which aired on USA Network from 2011 to 2019. Meghan starred as plucky paralegal Rachel Zane, while Adams played unlicensed lawyer (and Rachel’s love interest) Mike Ross. Though the Duchess of Sussex, 42, and Adams both stepped away from the show after season 7, which premiered in 2017,Suitsconcluded with a ninth and final season two years later.

Citing the latest Nielsen data,Varietyreported last week thatSuitswas the most-streamed show from Aug. 21 to 27 with over 2.6 billion minutes viewed between Netflix and Peacock.

Adams shared four Instagram posts between Tuesday and Wednesday featuring throwback photos from shootingSuits.

“I miss my friends,” Adams captioned the kickoff post on Tuesday, which showed Meghan and costar Sarah Rafferty in costume in an office on set, where Rafferty sat on a couch and Meghan laid on the floor, her feet up on a cabinet.
