Before they madeSuper Crate Box, indie developerVlambeermadeRadical Fishing, a flash game about pulling fish out of the water and finishing them with rocket launchers and other heavy weaponry. The team has been secretly readying an iOS version, but in what is too common an occurrence these days, another developer namedGamenautswas ripping off Vlambeer’s concept with their own calledNinja Fishing. With their hand forced, Vlambeer officially announced their sequelRidiculous Fishing, set to release sometime in the near future.

This time around, Vlambeer has teamed up with Zach Gage (Bit Pilot,Unify) and artist Greg Wohlwend (Solipskier,Infested Planets) to make not just a port, but a full remake.Ridiculous Fishingsports a fresh visual style, new mechanics, more weapons, treasure, monsters, new locations, and fish with hats. Sounds like a winning recipe to me. Here’s hoping Vlambeer doesn’t have to rush development too much because of some other guys who can’t come up with their own ideas.
