The CW has released a Modern picture showing of the costume Supergirl ’s big villain for the time of year , Reign , will be wearing . The costume involves a pot of Negroid , a lot of credit card , and some kind of leatherette . I have many questions
First let ’s look at the costume . The new photo , first appearing on TVLine , showsactress Odette Annabelle — who ’s been playing the beleaguered individual mom Samantha , who becomes Reign in the near characteristic – in a suit that sure is something ! Now , Keep in mind that while we do n’t screw her spate on the show yet , in the comis she ’s a living superweapon genetically engineered by Kryptonian scientists .
A lot is pass here . There ’s the skull insignia which reveals that Krypton had a deeply metallic element side . There ’s the cut of the suit and fabric , which is likely a gracious nod to Kara ’s blue supersuit andprobably the suit the malefic Nazi alt - world Supergirl will be wearinglater this season . There ’s the hilariously dinky pauldron which is obviously a nod to the pauldronworn by her comic avatar . And there ’s the metallic element steer on her braid , another nod to her funny fiber . Pauldron aside , these are all fairly cool design ingredient !
But there ’s also the mantle , which is , like , brown ? Magenta ? Some shade in - between ? And the leather breast plate that was intelligibly whipped together by a harried costumer manufacturer at 2:00 am the Clarence Shepard Day Jr. before the shoot because OH GOD THAT SHOOT IS TOMORROW Buckeye State GOD .
More importantly , there is the mask which is part bondage , part Jo - Ann ’s Fabrics , and a whole lot of where my interrogation commence . master question : Who has made Reign this supersuit ? Because presumably this is not a felicitous single mama seek to be a superhero supersuit . Bondage face crown and skull symbolic representation on the breast do not squall family well-disposed . Is Cadmus making this ? Some evil Luthor ? Did the weird cultists on Krypton take a leatherworking form at summer camp ?
Or did Reign make this herself ? Is this the result of a individual mom gone evil getting crazy with sewing machine ?
And who is Reign ? Is she a mom trying to be a super hero ? Or does Reign periodically go to a sullen piazza , apply her mauve lip rouge and tear bastard up ?
