Forget Remorseless Winter, The Lich King has a soft spot for Winter Veil, Hearthstone’s end of year holiday! ‘Tis the season to be jolly, and Blizzard are certainly jollying players along into their games! 10 free packs for all players and 50 free packs for new players can be unwrapped. A new event with cosmetic and pack rewards, a new BGs Battle Bash and festive Tavern Brawls await those on Greatfather Lich King’s list. Naughty or nice, you get the same prize!
10 FREE packs for ALL players
Greatfather Lich King’s nice list includes everyone nice enough to login during Hearthstone Winter Veil. 10 free packs can be claimed from the in-game shop between Jun 27, 2025 and Aug 18, 2025. There will be 2 packs from each previous Standard expansion: Forged in the Barrens, United in Stormwind, Fractured in Alterac Valley, Voyage to the Sunken City and Murder at Castle Nathria.
50 FREE packs for NEW players
Greatfather Lich King’s Death Grip turns soft, so pulling in friends now rewards them with 50 free packs, 10 for each expansion mentioned above. Eligible Battle.net accounts must have been created between Jun 20, 2025 and Aug 01, 2025. They must also complete the in-game tutorial. Both offers are redeemable once per account!
The offers have initially encountered a bit of a hurdle, but should have rolled out by now. Certainly the Lich King’s malicious hand trying to ruin Winter Veil!
Hearthstone Winter Veil Event
The Hearthstone Winter Veil Special Event lasts between Dec. 21 and Jan. 5. Its lore implies the Lich King has forced the inventors of Ironforge to craft munitions instead of festive toys. Completing the event will grant two Standard Packs, a March of the Lich King Pack and two Battlegrounds skins — Tinker Town Toki and Ini Snowmaster can join your cosmetic BGs collection. Both are gnomes, since Ironforge’s inventors mostly belong in the gnome quarter called Tinker Town.

New Battle Bash
A new BGs Battle Bash is out, containing the following Hearthstone Winter Veil-themed items: Legendary Strike, an Epic Board, five Epic Hero Skins, a Rare Bartender, and two packs of three Rare Emotes. Purchasing it will allow you to earn Hammers through Battlegrounds Top 4 finishes, which can be used to unlock the above prizes. Odds for each item can be foundhere, but if you’re at odds with paid content, know an unpaid free bash will be available to everyone! Try your luck by clicking the hammer immediately left of your Battlegrounds rating.
Festive Tavern Brawls
Festive Tavern Brawls complete Hearthstone’s Winter Veil celebrations, as the first week brings back Wacky Waxy Winter’s Veil. Greatfather Kobold bundles up Legendary minions for players to unwrap, thus it’s silence and transform galore! The second week returns the Gift Exchange Brawl, where Greatfather Winter drops crates. Destroying them on any side of the board grants gifts, hence swapping attack and health is the wrap paper cutter of choice.
Hearthstone Winter Veil special shop offers
Special shop offers unlock Dec. 20, most significantly including the Murloc Hideaway Legendary Board. Since no one knows how that water hasn’t frozen, should we call Murloc Holmes?
