Summary

Halo Infinitehas taken a book out of theGrand Theft Auto 6playbook, with an announcement for a new trailer coming soon.Season 5 ofHalo Infinitehas brought plenty to the table since it began in October, and it seems this trailer could give players a hint of what to expect for the foreseeable future.

WhenHalo Infinitewas first released in late 2021, the game was the target of criticism. The general consensus was that the game had launched without key features, despite a big delay back in 2020. However, in the years since its release, 343 Industries has put plenty of time and resources into ensuring the game becomes one of thebestHalogamesin the entire series. One of the biggest updates so far came recently, with the addition of AI to Forge mode. This essentially allows players to make their own campaign missions, which could keepHalo Infinitealive for years to come.

The announcement came via the officialHaloTwitter account, confirming a new trailer is coming on December 4 at 9 AM PT. The image itself clearly evokesRockstar’s announcement ofGrand Theft Auto 6’s trailer, with the post using the same purple and orange colors and silhouetted background. Ever since the announcement, there have been a number of copycat posts includingCall of Duty: WarzoneandFall Guys, soHalo Infinitealso jumping on the bandwagon isn’t massively surprising.

The announcement doesn’t give any details about what the trailer will actually include. Still, just a couple of days ago, 343 Industries confirmed that the classic Firefight mode is finally making its way intoHalo Infinite. As this is the big feature for Season 5’s mid-season update, an educated guess would safely suggest players will get an extended look at exactly how this iteration of Firefight will play. It has already been confirmed that there will be three fan-made maps, as well as the House of Reckoning pulled straight fromHalo Infinite’s campaign. With the trailer confirmed to drop on December 4, the update itself will come a day later, on December 5.

343 Industries' long-term strategy forHalo Infinitefinally seems to be paying off.Halo Infiniteis certainly in a much better place than it was at launch, and the game continues to bring in new players. Adding a bunch of classicHalo 3maps remade in Forge mode is certainly a big help, allowing players to indulge in 2007 nostalgia viaHalo Infinitematchmaking. Just recently,Halo Infinitepassed 30 million unique players, a huge milestone for the game. Hopefully, the great support for the game can continue for some time to come.
