Some rosy-cheeked tinkerers have decided to hack the data forSuper Mario Galaxy 2to create a suite of custom levels calledSuper Mario Galaxy 2.5. The hack isn’t finished yet, but you can see the fruits of their labor so far in the video above. And is that a remake of Bob-Omb Battlefield fromSuper Mario 64that I spy?
Super Mario Galaxy 2is one of the greatest 3D platformers of all time, so any modification may lack the high level of polish we’re accustomed to. Nonetheless, it’s fun to see what the fans can come up with. With that said, if you own a retail copy ofGalaxy 2, just follow the instructions on the YouTube page to soft mod your Wii so that it can play the one-level demo.
