Fortnite’s season 3 is winding down, and the end of this season may herald a new one. While season 3’s space theme introduced some memorable and unusual character skins, Epic Games continues its fastidious support ofFortniteby dropping new hints for what Season 4 has in store.
Currently, rumors and hints surmise that Epic Games is preparing to dropsuperhero themed skinsnext season, thanks to an image of a masked man within a comet. A new tweet from Epic unveils an updated version of the image, this time introducing another character.
The new character this time appears to be an unmasked female, sporting headgear or a gem on her forehead. Notably, her hairstyle and headpiece resemble the DC heroine Wonder Woman at first glance, and the image itself is also starting to resemble the art style of comic books. With the season endingamong the bombardment of comets, it’s possible this image will be updated with more skins as we arrive closer to May 3rd.
If Epic does intend for the next season to revolve around heroes, they’ve definitely left a couple tidbits that point in that direction. For one, therecently revealed Steelsight outfitwould be right at home among the two characters in the newest tweet. Her eyepiece sparks thoughts of comic book villains that use similar enhancements.
Not only that, but superheros have also often had otherworldly origins, meaning the comets might actually be the reason heroes are coming into light. Unsurprisingly, the tweet also coincides with the release date of Marvel’s titularAvengers: Infinity War, which is one of the most highly anticipated comic book movies to date.
Overall, fans have a great deal to look forward to as Epic updates the game regularly. The game itself brought in around$223 million in revenuelast month, and no doubt some of that revenue comes from the varied, unique, and downright weird cosmetics thatFortniteoffers its fanbase. At a time when comic movies are hitting their peak, the developers might think it’s an excellent time to introduce some super outfits to go along with their fort building.
