It ’s been seven years since iconic directorDavid Cronenbergmade a film , and it ’s been 22 class since he made a scientific discipline - fiction with 1999’seXistenZ. Now Cronenberg is heading back to the music genre with crime of the Future , and he ’s bringing Aragorn , Madeleine Swann , and Bella Swann along with him .
Viggo Mortensen , Léa Seydoux , and Kristen Stewart will be joined by the Underworld franchise ’s Scott Speedman , Lusitanian - Guinean role player Welket Bungué , Losing Alice ’s Lihi Kornowski , and Don McKellar ( who seem in eXistenZ ) in the movie ; it ’s localise in a future tense where many multitude have something called Advanced Evolution Syndrome , transforming their bodies into something more than human — a process not everyone O.K. of . FromDeadline(although this may be the official synopsis ):
“ Saul Tenser is a darling performance artist who has embraced Accelerated Evolution Syndrome , pullulate raw and unexpected organs in his body . Along with his pardner Caprice , Tenser has turned the removal of these electronic organ into a spectacle for his fast followers to wonder at in literal - time theatre . But with both the government and a unknown subculture taking preeminence , Tenser is force to look at what would be his most shocking carrying into action of all . ”

It ’s not clear-cut , but given how the names are grade , I ’m guessing Mortensen is Saul and Seydoux will play Caprice .
Interestingly , Cronenberg — last seen guest - starring onthe most recent time of year of Star Trek : Discovery — made a sci - fi film with the same form of address back in 1970 . Other than taking office in the future and let a side theatrical role who can continually produce new organ , the two are completely dissimilar with entirely dissimilar fibre , which is fine because the original movie sounds extremely rough and potentially triggering to take in . ( While that ’s on brand for a filmmaker who specialize in torso horror , I ’m not even going to let in the radio link . )
