As many gamers would possibly attest,Darksiders 3is one ofthe most highly anticipated games of fall 2018, and players have a little more than a month left to go before they can get their hands on a copy of the forthcoming title. Now, in order to catch fans up on their in-game history for the hack-and-slash trilogy, the publisher THQ Nordic and developer Gunfire Games have decided to release a video detailing the lore surrounding what is known as “The Charred Council”.
As explained byDarksiders 3’s latest lore video below, fans can view The Charred Council as a group of mediators to a certain extent, as it is charged with the task of maintaining balance throughout the entire universe. The Charred Council was crafted by The Creator, and should either the strength of Heaven or Hell become too mighty, the council must intervene to ensure that the balance of power doesn’t tip too much into one or the other’s favor.
Despite the aboveDarksiders 3lore video’s brief overview of The Charred Council and its purpose, the specific origins and notion of exactly what kind of entity it is actually remains somewhat mysterious. Of course, it’s a safe bet to presume that THQ Nordic and Gunfire Games will further elucidate the role of The Charred Council once the forthcoming hack-and-slash sequel officially hits store shelves in November.
Even thoughDarksiders 3hasn’t even come out yet, it’s apparent that Gunfire Games is deeply devoted to the IP, as the game development studio has alreadyexpressed interest in making another entryin the series. For the sake of the franchise’s fans and the property as a whole, one can only hope thatDarksiders 3performs well at launch, and gives the developer the chance to followup the third installment with a fourth one.
