The AMAX is back, and here’s the best BO6 loadout for the AR.
One of the most popular weapons in Call of Duty history has made its return to the franchise. The Season 3 update has brought back the CR-56 AMAX assault rifle, which is available in both Warzone and Black Ops 6. While the weapon was more famous in the old versions of Warzone, it can still be a dominant weapon in Black Ops 6 with the right loadout.
While the AMAX’s loadout has changed dramatically since we last saw it in 2021, rest assure that it’s still going to be one of the best ARs you can use in multiplayer. To see the strongest loadout for the CR-56 AMAX in Black Ops 6, take a look at the guide below.

Best loadout for the CR-56 AMAX in Black Ops 6
You canunlock the CR-56 AMAXvia a couple of different ways in Warzone and Black Ops 6 Season 3. However, the easiest way is to simply go through the Battle Pass, where you can unlock the AMAX for completely free after a bit of playtime. Once the CR-56 AMAX is unlocked, you need to spend more time leveling it up to eventually equip its best loadout for multiplayer.

Unfortunately, this loadout doesn’t make use of the newMonolithic Suppressorin Season 3. The AMAX has a little too much vertical recoil, so it requires the Compensator muzzle attachment to bring it down to a level where you can control the weapon effectively. To add some extra damage range and bullet velocity that the Monolithic Suppressor would have brought in, we can instead equip the Reinforced Barrel to boost those stats.
The rest of the loadout consists of your basic assault rifle attachments in Black Ops 6. There’s the Ranger Foregrip to add both recoil control and mobility, while the Ergonomic Grip and Balanced Stock both deliver extra mobility to the AMAX. This makes the AR a threat at longer ranges as well as close ranges.
We decided not to equip an optic on the AMAX, as we think its iron sights are more than sufficient for all types of gunfights, but you’re able to use the Gunfighter Wildcard to equip an optic and some additional attachments as well. I recommend the Kepler Microflex optic as well as the Recoil Springs and 40 Round Mags if you do equip Gunfighter.
