Buzzwole ex isn’t just another bug you can brush aside.

If we’re talking about raw power, Buzzwole ex in Pokémon TCG Pocket is a card that can certainly pack a serious punch. It doesn’t rely on any tricky ability or moves, but as long as it gets all the Energy it needs, it’s capable of deleting most Pokémon in the game.

As a Grass-type card, Buzzwole ex also benefits from a variety of cards that can enhance its survivability. If you managed to pull a couple of these bulky mosquitoes and are looking for a promising deck build to try in PvP matches, here’s a build that you may try.

How to play the Buzzwole ex deck in Pokémon TCG Pocket

For this deck, the best starting hand should contain at least one copy of Buzzwole ex, a Pheromosa, and a Celesteela. You need to prioritize giving Buzzwole ex every Grass Energy you have, while Celesteela’s ability allows you to switch Buzzwole ex in and out of danger once every turn.

Use Celesteela’s ability every time your opponent is about to use a powerful move before your turn ends. If you may anticipate what your opponent will do, your Celesteela can act as a shield for Buzzwole ex, and Buzzwole ex can return the favor by switching it back to the Active Spot in your next turn.

Other notable cards in the Buzzwole ex deck

Apart from Buzzwole ex and Celesteela, Pheromosa is another Pokémon card that you’re able to count on for certain scenarios, especially if your opponent is trying to hide afossilin their Bench. Don’t forget to take advantage of Celesteela’s Ability to use Pheromosa anytime you want.

Lusamine and Red are your best cards for making Buzzwole ex hit harder and faster. If your Buzzwole ex gets Knocked Out, use Lusamine to power up your other Buzzwole ex, which makes it instantly ready for an attack. Use your Red for targeting high-HP Pokémon ex.

Erika and Leaf Cape are vital pieces for Buzzwole ex and Celesteela to survive large amounts of damage. As for Repel, you can replace it with any other Tool card, but like Pheromosa, it’s highly useful for taking out fossils.

Strengths

This deck can have a decent matchup withDarkrai exusers, as all Buzzwole ex, Celesteela, and Pheromosa have enough HP to endure the tick damage.

Decks that don’t rely on Pokémon ex can have a hard time against Buzzwole ex, as they barely have the right amount of damage to knock your Pokémon out, thanks to Erika and Leaf Cape.

Weakness

Like any other Grass-type decks in Pokémon TCG Pocket, the Buzzwole ex deck can’t survive the onslaught of a 200-damageCharizard ex.

Moreover, this deck is not ideal against anOricorio deck, since it could force you to spend your Energy on Celesteela instead, which has a high-damage but unreliable move. If you’re struggling against Oricorio, you may consider replacing Pheromosa with a Kartana.
