The AMES 85 is the pros’ choice for an an AR loadout in Ranked.
When you first boot up Ranked Play in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, you’ll see two pre-made loadouts set up for you. One of those loadouts is for the AMES 85 assault rifle, which is the weapon you’ll see a majority of professional players running in the Call of Duty League. While the AMES 85 isn’t the current top pick for ARs in Ranked Play, it still has an incredibly strong loadout for the mode.
At the moment, the Krig C and Model L are the ARs you’ll see more of in Ranked Play. However, as the pros have banned those weapons amongst themselves, developer Treyarch will likely follow suit in the future. This would leave the AMES 85 as the meta AR in Ranked Play, so you might as well make a loadout for it now.

This is the AMES 85 loadout currently used by a wide majority of the pro players in the Call of Duty League. Some pros have opted for another red dot sight aside from the Kepler Microflex, so you can swap it out as well if you prefer. However, the rest of the attachments are what you’ll want to use to stay competitive in Ranked Play.
The Compensator and Vertical Foregrip are in place to drastically reduce both vertical and horizontal recoil control. The Reinforced Barrel adds damage range and bullet velocity while the Commando Grip improves both aim down sights speed and sprint-to-fire speed.
If you choose to equip the Gunfighter wildcard, you’ll add more mobility with the Balanced Stock and extra recoil control thanks to the Recoil Springs.
That’s the complete loadout for the AMES 85. While we still recommend theKrig Cor theModel Lover the AMES 85 in the current version of Ranked Play, this is the loadout you’ll need if/when those weapons are banned in the mode.
