With almost a million dollars on the line, these are the six teams that qualified for the LAN phase of the event.
It’s been more than two months since Xtreme Gaming beat Team Falcons and crowned as the first Elite League champions. For the Elite League Season 2, teams will compete for the sum of $800,000, which is $160,000 less compared to the last edition. However, this looks like a more exciting tournament for the viewers, as it will be a LAN event.
ESB, the tournament operator in charge, announced this as a part of a three-tournament circuit. Season 2 is confirmed to happen in Lima, Peru—a location cherished for its young and passionate crowd.
List of qualified teams per region
For their LAN event, ESB conducts six regional qualifier events, each with one slot available. Here are all the Elite League Season 2 teams playing the Swiss stage in Lima, Peru:
Some team names may sound unfamiliar since they’ve been only active on their region’s Tier 2 scene. Elite League Season 2 will be the first LAN event with such a high prize pool for some of these teams and players.
On what seemed to be one upset after the other, even TI-qualified teams lost the finals on different regions. First, Infinity managed to defeat Beastcoast with a convincing score of 3-1. Then, it was Yellow Submarine surprising 1win esports; which means that Satanic will finally play his first international tournament. Also, it is the first time Execration has beaten TNC Predator this year.

ESB announced the Liga 2024 Dota 2 league. A series of tournaments will start on August 18, 2025.

With almost a million dollars on the line, it’s clear that a list of Tier 1 teams is soon to be released. However, the announcement of the “Super Dimension Vision Snow Ruyi Invitational Tournament” indicates which teams won’t be able to participate. The dates for this Chinese tournament go from July 28 to Aug. 4, the same as Elite League’s groups and round-robin stages.

On the other hand, Gonzalo “NAK” Velasco (ESB’s CEO) replied to a tweet from Timado, OG’s hard carry, telling him how excited he is to have him “playing in Lima”. Now that OG will not be playing The International, and their last announced tournament is Riyadh Masters 2024, it’s likely they will be available to play Elite League Season 2.
