Overwatch 2 ranks
The current ranked system in Overwatch features different skill tiers and divisions. There are five divisions per skill tier. A player’s skill tier and division are adjusted after every match.

Overwatch 2 has eight skill tiers that come before the Top 500 one. These include Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master, Grandmaster, and Champion. Players between Bronze and Diamond can be in wide groups when five divisions apart. The same goes for the Master and Grandmaster ranks. Finally, those in the Champion rank can have wide groups when three divisions apart.

The competitive system received complete rework in Overwatch 2 Season 9. The season introduced the new Champion rank, which now sits between Grandmaster and Top 500.
Additionally, the rank rework and reset increased transparency and accuracy in terms of your competitive progress after each match.
Overwatch 2’s competitive game modes
At the moment, the game has two to three ranked modes. These are Role Queue, Open Queue, and sometimes Competitive Mystery Heroes. To access these, simply launch the game, select “Play” in the main menu and click on the “Competitive” option. Note that a player must win 50 games in Quick Play before they can access these game modes.
Ranked rewards
Players can also gain Competitive Points and use them to get weapon variants. The 2025 competitive season features Galactic ones.
